- Winter Camp – We plan our own camp in Big Bear and enjoy an incredible weekend together in the snow.
- Scholarship Form – Do not let money be an issue. It is CVCC’s desire that we partner with parents in any way we can. Let’s send your teen to camp!
Phillip Blazek, High School Pastor
Phillip has been a part of the CVCC family his entire life and joined the staff in 2012. Phillip has his B.A. in Biblical Studies from Biola University and his M.A. in New Testament Theology from Talbot School of Theology. His hope for the High School Ministry is to be used by God as a disciple and to make disciples for His glory. “High school is an important time in a person’s life and I want to be able to point them to Jesus through that time”.
Phillip and his wife Cristin have two kids and a baby boy on its way: Elijah (2), Lily (1), Ezekiel (coming this November!)
Hi my name is Cristin. I became a Christian after attending CVCC’s winter camp with the junior high ministry. I have been involved in church ever since. I was first called to high school staff in 2009 and have loved where God has placed me, I love seeing the students grow in their relationship with the Lord and taking ownership of their faith. I am a small group leader to the freshmen girls. I work as a Special Education Teacher at Inspire Charter Schools. When I am not working I like to spend time with my husband Phillip, son Elijah, daughter Lily and newest addition Ezekiel. We have been married since 2012. I feel so blessed that God has put me in this role to partner with my husband in leading the high school ministry.
I have been a part of CVCC since 1995 after I moved to California from Iowa. I worked in Children’s Ministry for about 11 years and simultaneously worked in the Junior High group for 5 years. I then moved up to High School Ministry where I have been for the past 8 years. I enjoy working with the youth of our church and community because I think it is important that they have many role models to follow and invest in them. I currently work for ELS Language Centers where I teach English to International students who have come to America to further their education and English skills. In my free time, I enjoy time with my friends and furthering hobbies such as cooking and scrapbooking.
Hey my name is Bailey Fluckey! I have been a part of the CVCC family since I was 5 years old. After working in Jr. High ministries with CVCC for 8 years, I felt it was time to help lead in a new area of youth ministries. I help lead the high school Junior girls. I love getting to know the girls as they enter a new and memorable time in their life.
I graduated from Azusa Pacific University and I am a online public high school teacher. I earned my degree in Liberal Studies and hold a California Teaching credential in Earth Science with a Masters of Education.
I have been married to my husband Jason for 6 and half years, and have a 4 year old daughter, Lorelai and 1 year old son, James.
Hi, my name is Jason Fluckey, and I have been involved with the Jr. High and High School ministries for 7 years. It has been filled with a number of blessings and it is amazing to see the students grow up! I help lead the Senior boys.
I graduated from Azusa Pacific University and currently work for a Managed Care company. I earned a Bachelors in Biology and MBA from APU.
I have been married to my wife, Bailey, for 8 years and we have a four year old daughter and one year old son.
Hey my name is Alyse Hardesty and I was born and raised in Chino Hills and attended Grace Church of Glendora for the first 18 years of my life. I married my high school sweetheart (Jeremy Hardesty) soon after my high school graduation. We now have two children Brooklyn (8) and Zachary (5).
We spent our earlier years of marriage church hopping (due to Jermeys enlistment in the Marine Corps). The Hardesty family has proudly called CVCC home now for 6 years!
This will be mine and Jeremy’s fifth summer serving in the High School Ministry. I also lead Junior Girls small group on Tuesday nights!
My hopes for being a role as a female on high school staff is to grow and develop relationships with ALL young women attending; partnering with parents in helping all kids grow, strengthen, and develop, a closer more personal relationship with their Savior!
My name is Jeremy Hardesty. I wasn’t raised in a Christian home and I wasn’t introduced to church until I met my wife. After dating her for a while and talking with her, her friend led me to Christ one Sunday at Church in 2004. Aylse and I attended Grace Church of Glendora while we were dating.
Since then I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2005. I was enlisted for 5 years of active duty where i was deployed twice to Al Taqqadum Iraq for 7 months each time. I was a helicopter hydraulics mechanic. I was honorably discharged in April 2010. I currently work for Kimberly Clark at their Fullerton mill as a manufacturing 5th Hand.
Alyse and I got married in 2008 after dating for 4 years. Now we have been married for 9 years and we have two beautiful kids. Brooklyn is now 7 years old and Zachary is 4. We moved around a lot while i was in the military and attended many different Church’s. We finally found our home at CVCC just over 4 years ago. Alyse and I are both honored to be part of the High school ministries. I can’t be as involved as I might like to due to my work schedule. I do take part in most Sunday and Wednesday nights and when available I will be leading the Freshman small group alongside Sammy Rios.
I hope my role as a male high school staff member can have an impact on not only the sophomore boys but on all the high school students as a positive influence. Growing and developing my relationships with the students has proven difficult with work but it has been becoming easier the more I get to know the students. Thank you so much for the opportunity to have an impact on your child’s life and partnering with you to lead and guide their walk with The Lord.
Hi my name is Marla, I was born and raised in a Christian home and developed a desire to serve Christ early on in life. Accepting Christ at age 5 and having amazing mentors throughout my life, I was always encouraged to live life to the fullest and to always give the Glory to God. To draw near to Him and to strive to know Him more and more each day.
I began attending CVCC in 1999 with my husband Steve and immediately started serving in the 2 year old room for 6 years and then moved into serve the high schoolers for 14 years. I also help lead worship in the J-Zone but am very passionate about mentoring high school students so I once again started to lead the junior girls alongside of Chris Bailey and Bailey Fluckey.
I have been married to Steven for 23 years and we are blessed with 5 incredible kids: Leah, Caleb, Micah, Abigail, and Aaron. I currently teach at Ron Hockwalt Academies and spend the rest of my time juggling life as a mom. I also love to teach swimming and enjoy making memories with my family. I am thankful for my church family and love to have the opportunity to encourage, support, and mentor to these high school students.
Hi my name is Alex. I grew up going to Saint Paul’s Catholic Church with my family. After 20 years of being Catholic I realized I did not have a true relationship with Christ and did not fully comprehend why He had died on the cross. I began attending the college group at CVCC after my best friend invited me. That’s where I met Sammy Rios my husband, but most importantly, My savior and became a follower of Christ!
I, along with Nicole Evaro lead a girls small group. Seeing how high schoolers take ownership of their faith and desire to serve their Heavenly Father continues to be the greatest and most humbling experience of seeing God work through our youth.
I am the son of a pastor and have grown up serving in the church. I first began attending Chino Valley Community Church about 11 years ago and have been on high school staff now for 5 years. I have been married now for 4 years to Alex and we live in Chino Hills and love pouring into the lives of the high schoolers we get to interact with!
We are expecting our first child and look forward to training her to love God’s Word!
We own a home inspection business and love to see how God uses it for His glory.
Hey guys, I’m Chris aka Scooby. I love God, love his people, and the blessing that it is to be a part of youth ministry. John 3:30
I began attending CVCC in 2011 after being invited to the Community College and Young Adult group by a friend, Alex Rios. I quickly began making new friends thanks to the fellowship and kind, welcoming atmosphere which CVCC offered.
After serving and helping in worship for the High School ministry for a couple of years, in 2014, Phillip approached me to serve on High School staff. It was an easy “yes”. Witnessing the growth of the students and the pursuit of their own relationship with Christ, was something I wanted to be part of.
I took the 2017-2018 school year off from serving with High School as life was getting busier and realized freeing up a bit of extra time during the week would allow me to continue to grow spiritually. As life has settle back down, and the opportunity arose to re-join staff, I felt called back into the ministry. I am excited to be back!
P.S. There are few things in life that make me happier than a good, hot cup of coffee and a fresh maple bar, so don’t be surprised to see me with both on a Sunday morning!
Hello! My name is Nicole and I grew up in Chino Hills and am an alumni of Chino Hills High School. My husband, Ryan, and I joined CVCC in 2009. We have been a part of the High School Ministry since 2017. My hope is to inspire, encourage, and equip the youth of the Church to develop personal relationships with the Lord before they graduate High School.
Hi, my name is Ryan. I was born and raised in Chino Hills and attended the local Calvary Chapel for 18 years prior to making CVCC my home church in 2009. I am beyond blessed to be married for over 5 years to my beautiful wife, Nicole. I am also proud to own my own business as a local real estate agent.
Not only do I serve on High School staff, but I also serve as the Worship Leader. The gift of worship was impressed upon my heart at a young age, and God has continued to use that for His glory! I am so fortunate to be able to work with such amazing High School students and help them grow in their walk with the Lord. I am excited to see what God has planned for the future of Focus High School Ministry!
