Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power. - Psalm 145:4

Foundation

God teaches us about relationships with Him through family.

(Ephesians 5:1; Psalm 103:13; Isaiah 66:13; Proverbs 3:12; Ephesians 1:5; 1 John 3:1; Ephesians 5:32)

God created, loves and wants faithful marriages. This in return creates healthy families.

(Proverbs 18:22; Hebrews 13:4; Ephesians 5:33; Matthew 19:6)

God commands that children are to be cared for and trained.

(Psalm 78:7; 2 John 4; Ephesians 6:4)

God tells us and shows us what to teach our children.

(Proverbs 23:15-26; Psalm 1:2; Psalm 78:4; Matthew 28:20)

God does not take family responsibility lightly.

(Matthew 18:6; 1 Samuel 3:13; 1 Timothy 3:4-5; 1 Timothy 5:8)

God gives families the gift of forgiveness.

(Luke 17:3-4; Colossians 3:13; John 13:35)

FRAme

The CVCC Family Framework encompasses the ministries of all generations with a prayerful and strategic blueprint to help build a faith that sticks throughout a lifetime. We want to capture discipleship moments in our everyday life.

It is a philosophy, not a program.

We do this by offering:

  • Encouragement of the whole family worshipping together every week

  • Age-appropriate teaching through weekly programming and special events

  • An intentional shift to incorporate intergenerational programming and events, such as family missions, service opportunities, and family camps

  • The development of “Keychain Leadership” as we pass on intentional leadership opportunities to the next generations

  • Opportunities for our adults to share their faith with others

  • “Sticky Faith” parenting and grandparenting classes that funnel these caring adults into long-term discipleship opportunities

  • Parental discipleship equipping and empowering

Fulfillment

“... go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

The fulfillment of the Great Commission must begin in our homes.

CVCC will provide training and resources on how to live this out in your home, your community, and the world.

future

We can expect to see generation after generation worshipping, being discipled, and growing in their faith in Jesus Christ at CVCC.

We will be a church that is built on relationships, not programs. A church that is building a faith that sticks in all generations.

We will be passing on leadership and evangelizing the Chino Valley together.

We will be a church that continues to be focused on Christ and His Word, and that is committed to reaching the world for His glory together.

focus

The CVCC Family Framework philosophy of worship/discipleship falls under the umbrella of CVCC’s discipleship plan, encompassing these four rhythms of Christian life. We want to make sure that all generations:

Belong grow serve reach

We do this in partnership with parents, who we believe are the primary disciple-makers of their children.

Our Family Ministries framework builds on the foundation of faith, from birth through adulthood. We believe that all generations exist to become life-long disciples of Christ.

The church was not designed to replace parents or grandparents as a primary Christian influence, but to assist and equip them for this essential work.
