About the Study:  7 Weeks Thursdays September 12 – October 24, 2024

In How to Spell WORSHIP with Your Family, we will grow together in harnessing the power of worship in our personal lives and also live it out within our homes. This class brings a fresh unveiling of the Biblical principles and daily practices of worship that will be both inspirational and transformational. We will gain a deeper understanding that the most significant influence we will ever have will be guiding and leading our family toward a lifestyle of worship, a legacy that will resonate from one generation to the next. Each week we will have a time of interaction as we look at “How to Spell Worship in our Homes!”

About the Author:

John Bolin is the Pastor of Worship Ministries at Kingsland Baptist church in Katy, Texas, and an artist who has excelled as a singer, songwriter, arranger, and conductor. He is also the co-founder of Worship Convergence International, an organization dedicated to facilitating musical and missional tours across the word. John is a professor at California Baptist University where he also conducts the University Choir and Orchestra. John is viewed as a leading voice for worship leaders, worship ministries, choirs and orchestras, multigenerational worship, and family worship. John and his wife Paige have five children and live in Katy, Texas.

“If you read only one parenting book this year, make it this one. That’s because John Bolin has opened up a way to bless, build up, and prepare your kids for a great future. And he does so in a way that I’ve literally never read about before. John spells it out for you right here in a practical, ‘I can do that!’ way. John’s book will help you bring worship’s massive benefits into your home and each person’s heart.”  —John Trent, Ph.D. President, StrongFamilies.com; Author of Where Do I Go from Here? and Co-Author of The Blessing

This is how we will spell worship together this Fall!

W- The WORD of God    September 12, 2024
When we love God, we will cherish, read, and study His Word. If we believe that worship is God revealing Himself to us, then we must start where he chooses to reveal himself the most. The Word of God.

 O- OBEY                              September 19, 2024
A lifestyle of worship is a lifestyle of obedience. “If you love me, you’ll obey my commandments.” – John 14:15, 23 (see also Romans 12:1, 2 John 1:6)

 R- REJOICE                       September 26, 2024
Being joyful in every circumstance is a beautiful act of worship. Rejoicing is not something we turn on and off in our life, but rather a constant discipline of the heart, attitude, and spirit.

 S- SING                                 October 3, 2024
Singing and praise is a foundational part of worship. We are commanded to sing and praise with all that we are, all that we have, and with all generations.

 H – HELP                            October 10, 2024
Worship is both the root and the fruit of service and missions. When we help and serve others, it should come out of a heart seeking to bring pleasure to the Father as we love and serve as Christ did.

 I – IMITATE                      October 17, 2024
The greatest worshipper that ever walked the earth was Jesus Christ. He is both the model and the primary object of our worship. The more we imitate Christ by looking, sounding, and thinking like Christ, the more we will genuinely worship.

P-PRAY                                October 24, 2024
If worship, at its core, is responding to God through the divine dialogue, then cultivating a discipline of prayer and communion with God is a primary expression of worship.
